Between us we had 5 rooms -a mix of doubles and twins.
The hotel was running an offer of rooms for 50 pound a night incl breakfast.
The rooms were very good for the price, a good size, clean and comfortable.
The breakfast we had was only ok.
I found that although there was some choice, in comparison to other hotel breakfasts, the choice was limited.
There was only orange juice for a cold drink and just tea or coffee for hot drinks.
There were about 4 cereals and some tinned fruit but no fresh fruit yogurt or rolls and different breads.
The cooked breakfast had more choice but we had to wait for food to be replenished and it was just warm.
Overall we had a good stay at the village.
The only thing I would say was negative was the staff on reception.
When we asked what the latest was we could attend breakfast we were told 9.

Checkin staff chatted amongst themselves before acknowledging.
Checkin after that was smooth.
The rooms are well equipped, with iron, trouser press and flat screen TV.
Unfortunately, the hotel doesn't have air conditioning in the rooms and the bathrooms are somewhat tired.
As many reviewers have commented the TV channels are poorly displayed and fuzzy.
The breakfast was well cooked, however the breakfast room staff were gossiping so loudly that it was a distraction during a nice breakfast.
I'd reccommend staying at the holiday inn next door which offers fast free Wifi and importantly air conditioned rooms.
Not awful, but not great.

The areas where you feel we can improve upon are already well underway to being resolved and this includes the tv reception in our guest bedrooms, you may have noticed that we have recently installed HD within our pub area during your stay which offers a far superior viewing experience.
We do offer fast free Wifi here at the hotel in addition to a full range of services and I would hope that you would re-visit us in the future to see at first hand the improvements we are continually making.

Best Regards Ben Thomas General Manager We stayed at this hotel last Saturday night 19th as it was close to the venue where our niece's birthday party was being held.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by a friendly and professional receptionist.
The lobby was bright and airy and leads off the Victory Pub, Verve Restaurant and Starbucks Coffee Shop.
There is also a flight of stairs down to the basement where the gym, studios and swimming pool are located.
The common areas of the hotel were generally very clean and well maintained.
We stayed in Room 101, a superior double located next to the main staircase, and this is one of the few problems that made our stay an average one, when clearly I get the impression that this hotel is more than capable of providing an excellent all round experience if these problems are ironed out.
We arrived back to our room after our niece's birthday party just after midnight.
The bed is not the most comfortable we have slept in, a little on the hard side but ok.
The room was too hot, as unfortunately, the switch on the thermostat control was missing and believe that it was stuck on the maximum temperature.
Did not want to complain at that time of night and in any case believe that issues such as a missing thermostat control in a room should be identified by hotel management before letting out a room.
We did not sleep very well as a steady flow of guests returning through the night and then going down to breakfast with heavy feet on the staircase in the morning was too disruptive.
The room was generally very clean and a bottle of water and basket of fresh fruit had new years eve village walsall thoughtfully placed on the table for our consumption.
There were old food particles remaining on the table which had not been cleaned properly but we were generally impressed with the standard of cleanliness in the room.
We could clearly hear the full conversations of the guests in the room next door.
There was no soap remaining in the soap dispenser we did bring new years eve village walsall of our own but that is missing the point which should be part of a basic housekeeping check.
There is also a sign in the shower stating "Please place shower curtain inside bath before taking shower.
That is just lack of atnetion to detail.
It would only take a minute or two to remove this now redundant notice.
All of the above is constructive crticism as the faults in the room in which we stayed could easily be rectified by management except the thin walls within a short space of time and with the minimum of fuss.
However, I believe that our stay last Saturday evening would have been a better experience had we been located in a room away from the staircase which is not a resolvable problem unless soundproofing the entire room.
Enough of the bad points.
The staff were very friendly in all areas of the hotel.
I enjoyed a beer in the excellent Victory Pub which was showing football on the T.
On Saturday afternoon we briefly went downstairs to view the gym but it was very busy as many members aside from hotel guests turned up to use it and decided against using it on this occasion.

We ate off the early bird menu as we were seated before 7pm and was surprised at 3 courses for £12.
For this price the food was great.
The service was also impeccable and the time between courses was spaced out just nice.
I would definitely recommend a visit if you live locally or if you're travelling as its just off junction 10 M6.

Receptionist seemed frosty while we were queueing but once she decided to deal with us she was lovely.
Room was really big, nice table and chairs so you're not always sitting on the bed.
Very busy weekend as a wedding was taking place there and a coach party arrived which made the reception area exceptionally busy and noisy, which was a shame as the starbucks is a nice meeting area.
Why is smoking allowed right outside the front doors of hotels?

Didn't sleep well, no fault of hotel just ignorant guests that couldn't return to their rooms quietly.
Had the buffet breakfast.
The waitress that saw us to our table was really miserable.
The food though was lovely but the self serving area was not big enough for the amount of guests.

I will never understand why a hotel doesn't get some toast ready for the early morning crush.
